If you are in Edinburgh’s Ocean Terminal, wandering through the ground floor, you can’t fail to notice the Living Memory Association’s new unit – it’s enormous and is home to a wealth of artefacts, photos, stories, exhibitions, and information about local groups and events. Volunteers are always on hand to chat to or answer questions.
It is well worth a visit!
Thelma, issue 2, is on sale there too, packed with interviews, first-person memories, features and photos.
You can read about:
People’s memories of the end of the second world war, including life at sea during the Atlantic convoy then returning to Edinburgh, and drama during VE Day celebrations in Princes Street Gardens
The political history of buildings in Academy Street, Leith
Old family photos and how they can convey a social history
…And much more! The magazine is £2, which helps the LMA continue their excellent work
