I have a MA in Print Journalism from what was then London College of Printing (now London College of Communication, part of the University of the Arts). But I really learned the ropes over the next decade, working as a reporter and feature writer in various regional press publications.
These days I provide tailor-made copywriting for businesses’ and charities’ websites, advertising supplements, marketing media such as press releases, plus editing and proofreading.
Exhibitions can be a great way to showcase a project you have been working on. Working to your brief, I create exhibition panels using text and images which can then be printed at any size; A1 panels can look especially eye-catching and engaging. I can work with you at different stages; editing text and selecting images, or providing the final design from ready-to-go material.
I edited three community magazines for areas of Edinburgh, which involved finding and commissioning articles, sub-editing and production work. I currently edit TheLMA, the quarterly magazine for fantastic Edinburgh-based charity, the Living Memory Association. Pick up the latest issue at their unit in Ocean Terminal in Leith.
I also write travel articles for publication online and in newspapers and magazines.
